Market Data APIs
Programmatic access to price and fundamental data: choosing sources, free tiers, and the limits that shape analysis.

Module 1 opens the course with the practical foundation: getting market data programmatically. The Colab setup walks through downloading historical prices with finance APIs (yfinance-style sources for OHLCV data), and the lectures cover the selection criteria — what data each API provides, rate limits, history depth, and when a paid feed becomes necessary.
The module also frames the decision-making context before any code: the landscape of personal investments and the risk/reward tradeoffs of focusing attention on particular markets. Everything later in the course — indicators, models, simulations — consumes the data pipeline built here.
