Podcast

Live events where we invite data science practitioners, ML engineers, and AI researchers to share their experience. No slides - just a conversation between the guest and the host.

Everyone who joins the live broadcast can ask questions, and we cover them as we go. After the live event, the recording is published as a podcast episode. It is available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and other audio platforms. Transcripts and show notes are available on our website.

How it works

Podcasts are live events. The format is Q&A for the entire event:

  • We agree on a topic and on an outline of the interview with the guest
  • We work on the questions together before the interview
  • The audience also asks questions live and we cover some of these questions

Usually we spend around 40 minutes on prepared questions and 20 minutes on questions from the audience, but it varies from interview to interview.

After the live event, we prepare the audio-only version and release it as a podcast on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and other platforms. In addition to the audio, we prepare a transcript with show notes.

  • We use Zoom and broadcast the meeting to YouTube
  • Typically 20+ people join the stream and a few hundred watch the recording afterwards
  • 200+ people listen to the audio-only version

For guests

If you are invited as a guest, here is what to expect:

  • The invite email proposes one recording time. If it does not work, just reply with one or two alternates
  • After the time is agreed, you get a short optional form for your bio, links, and the topics you would most enjoy covering. The form is optional - replying to the email in a couple of sentences works too
  • Before the interview, it helps to share anything you published online that relates to the topic, for example:
    • Blog posts
    • Talks and podcast interviews
    • Social media posts
    • Github repositories
  • On the day, join the Zoom call a few minutes early. There are no slides to prepare
